“It is deeply disheartening when individuals make offhand comments like praising Michelle Young for wearing fur as the best outfits of the night. What have non-human animals done to deserve such cruelty? Why do we subject them to torture and skin them for their fur, sometimes while they are still alive? Dogs, fox cubs, who are closely related to dogs and share similarities with cats, are electrocuted annually or vaginally with 240 V of electricity at just seven months old. Additionally, five million wild animals suffer in agonizing traps for their fur every year.
How do people who appear to be kind-hearted not see the cruelty in this? How can they fail to connect the dots to the movement for justice and freedom from torture? Fur should not be a fashion status symbol; it represents a heartbreakingly sad reality. If you have any pets, such as cats or dogs, just look at them and contemplate the atrocities that are being perpetuated. It is a reign of terror that is being condoned, and even glamorized.”
