A very bad week for Xbox as huge layoffs besiege Activision just months after the acquisition of Activision Blizzard King calling into question the future of ABK under the Xbox brand. Some say it was inevitable and a reflection of the industry as a whole that has suffered such layoffs and others point squarely to consolidation to blame such lay offs. Mike Ybarra, former President at Blizzard will be stepping down but speculation based on his recent comments suggest he may have been ousted. Odyssey, the new IP from Blizzard is also now cancelled after 6 years of development. Is Xbox in trouble? What does this mean for the future of ABK under Microsoft?
