“This is a tough one - I’ve listened to this podcast for the better part of the decade, and I’d say it was great to fantastic until fairly recently.
With changes to the hosts though, much of the old energy is gone. I started listening because it was a show about video games, and that remains true. I kept listening for years because the hosts were all very witty, had great banter and were willing to tease each other mercilessly - much of this is gone in recent episodes.
It’s not that Amanda as lead or the other hosts are bad per se - they’re all doing a serviceable job - it’s just that the old chemistry is gone. It’s less a conversation among friends and more a dull recitation of what everyone’s playing. The shine is gone.
Anyone coming to the show now will probably have a higher opinion of it.”
