Irresponsible about natives
This podcast host feels no responsibility to discuss the importance of using native plants in the garden. Entire shows recommend non-native species and praise “what vigorous growers” they are. For Japanese Anemone the suggestion was to “pot it up” and give it to a neighbor! Japanese Anemone is invasive in some states. I definitely do not have all native plants in my yard, but I try to pay attention to the importance of natives in my yard and would never give a neighbor an aggressive non native plant. If you care at all about our local environment and expect to learn about how your garden can be a beneficial force for sustainability, this podcast won’t help. The occasional nod to natives is here, but is far outweighed by gardening suggestions that came right out of the last century.

Great guests and deep dives. Not just of regional interest to the DC-MD-VA region. Kathy has excellent subject matter experts. Loved the recent Arboretum episode.
