This episode made me so angry. Talking about Botswana and with no reference to imperialism and neoliberalism. Botswana is basically run in the interest of the De Beers and it’s investors. Rather the speaker thought it was a good idea to force hunter gatherer people into capitalism and the resulting penury. Seriously what is the point of the circular economy when exploitation remains the same. It’s a total red herring, there is nothing sustainable about mass consumption.
