Writing to you three from the astral world. A nihilist that’s seen the light.
I don’t care if I’m part of the best new segment: “review of the week” or not, you all just deserve to know I was one of the three people that kept listening. It didn’t feel like I was listening to a podcast anymore. It was like you were there keeping me company while I did all the things I didn’t want to do: scoop the litter, wash the dishes, sort the laundry, take out the trash, wait for the bus.
I just moved to a new city and I’m depressed. I just haven’t found my people yet. Thank you MUNA for being my people in the meantime. You’re helping me get through the week. You’re walking me home at night.
I might not ever start a band with my best friends. But at least listening to Gayotic I can feel the same high: empowered, funny, creative, seen, alive.
(Right after listening to “Sometimes I Do Give It A Blow!” (obviously) I then listened to “It’s Gonna Be Okay, Baby” and then…actually felt like it’s gonna be. For maybe the first time ever. Because sometimes people write music that makes you see your future self. And you tear up as you’re riding the bus alone and watching the sunset. You sing It’s gonna be okay and I know you don’t mean because things will always work out. But because you’re no longer alone.)”
