Extremely important conversation
It is so hard to find quality information around gender and the various ways people in distress are coping with it these days. This podcast is an antidote to the online echo chambers of Reddit and a massively refreshing, informed, empathetic take from two professionals on the front lines. The most valuable part for me is the engagement with actual peer reviewed research in the field and experts in the various fields of medicine and law that are connected to gender. I came to the podcast as someone I care deeply about is struggling with questioning their gender. I am terrified and so is he, but the mainstream culture and medical establishment gives only one narrative now: confirm their identity and start medical transition as soon as possible. That’s not compassion, it’s not kindness, it’s not supported by any quality studies or scientific research, and and it’s all moving way too fast along a political track.

They are not transphobic, rather they address trans people with compassion and...Read full review »
