While all life originally arose in the seas, about 370 million years ago one group of fish evolved new anatomical features that enabled them to crawl out of the ocean and take up residence on dry land. This invasion of land by fish was one of the major events in the history of life on earth. Evolutionary biologist Michael Coates will discuss new fossil discoveries that are changing the way we view this moment in natural history.
