With a short way to go to the U.S. midterm elections, we talk to cyber pros about exactly how foreign adversaries attempted to breach our systems during the 2016 election and how state security officials are preparing for this year’s elections. We learn about all the different facets to being prepared against an attack from Trevor Timmons, the CIO for the Secretary of State of Colorado. Colorado was one of 21 states targeted during the 2016 elections, but the state had been in security preparations for over a decade leading into that election. We also look at the broad implications of nation-state sponsored cyber war in a discussion with security pro who advises governments on cybersecurity. In 2007, the very first nation-state cyber war attack was launched on the country of Estonia. Now it is considered the most cyber-secure country on the planet.
