“I love this podcast! I have a very overactive imagination & I scare easily, but listening to this podcast is the perfect amount of fright and light. Each introduction truly makes you feel like you’re right there with Unko (Uncle) Jared while he shares his culture and stories of Hawaiian folklore. Unko Jared is really respectful to his listeners and explains that the stories he shares are those that he knows & are sometimes changed for privacy. My favorite clips are the sound bloopers that Unko Jared shares of him stumbling on word pronunciation. You know the scene in Twilight where Bella is brought to an indigenous tribal council meeting to hear their legends? When listening to Ghostlore of Hawaii, I feel like I’ve been personally invited to listen in on an important Hawaiian tribal council meeting. Okay, that might be doing to much with that comparison, but bottom line is that I feel honored to have found this podcast. I look forward to hearing and learning more about the Hawaiian culture. I feel like I’m hanging out with distant relatives.”
