Prepare yourself for superior backcountry dining. ___________________________________ Tips for 5 days of food in a 3 day bear can (BV450) • Homogenize Food (Portion out shared ingredients) • How to stuff the food into the can • Why the stuffing and portioning into bags is problematic • Large ziplocks are a life saver for when bags tear ___________________________________ Specialty Items (flavor enhancers): • Asian type soup • serrano pepper • sesame seeds • dried onion • garlic ___________________________________ Breakfast: Cup of oatmeal with chia, hemp, and flax seeds added (1 tablespoon each) and scoop of flavored protein powder. Also some coconut milk powder and sugar. Plus salt and cinnamon. __________________________________ Dinner (2 bags): Bag 1 is starches—couscous, powdered potatoes, dehydrated veggies and sweet potatoes, and powdered shiitake mushrooms. Bag 2 is a protein, stew mix of pork sausage, tomatoes, bell pepper, onion, and spinach—blitzed and dried.
