Way too focused on consumerism.
Really disappointed that so much of this podcast is focused on eco-friendly brands to buy from instead of how to actually reduce your impact on the planet. Yes, ethical and sustainable brands are doing better, but promoting consumerism is still damaging the earth. I wish they would focus on real ways to reduce your carbon footprint (eating a plant based diet, not flying, biking or utilizing public transportation, voting for candidates that don’t deny climate change, carbon offsetting, buying only second hand, and especially reducing your consumption!). The fact that they ask every guest what their favorite brand or product is tells you all you need to know. People that are listening to this podcast want to do better and the message they send to those people is that buying from sustainable brands is all they need to do. When they do mention buying secondhand or thrifting, it’s as an afterthought. This mindset is why we have a climate crisis in the first place. I’m disappointed.
