Description
1 Timothy 3:1-7 - Speaker: Lukus Counterman - Ephesus was plagued by false teachers along with men and women who were confused in ministry their roles. So, Paul sent Timothy to set things in order and teach the church how to conduct itself as the house of God and pillar of truth. What we learn in 1 Timothy 3:1-7, is that a healthy church needs healthy elders. It needs men who are exemplary in their marriage and family, their personality and character, and in their devotion to and communication of God’s word. Elders are meant to be models of how truth transforms life. So, Timothy was supposed to pursue qualified men to lead quality churches for the glory of God. May the Lord teach us the importance of having biblically qualified elders to lead the church. And may we pray for our pastors as they seek to please God and follow his lead.
