Supporting registrars on trauma informed care:a practice-centered approach - Dr Wei-May Su and Dr Jennifer Neil
Description
GP registrars and supervisors need to be aware of the high community prevalence of abuse and violence during their consultations. As members of this community, practitioners may themselves be vulnerable in the context of their own lived experience.
It is important for supervisors to demonstrate trauma-informed medical education while supporting registrars in trauma-informed care, with a whole-of-practice approach to trauma closing the loop on the scaffolding of both trainee and patient.
