“I have just listened to the dropped kick off episode after the French series.
I really wonder why you guys bothered.
You are all so negative.
It is obvious that Australian rugby is not where is was in the 1990’s. Two World Cup wins and we were coming in to professionalism where we had a lead. We have lost that lead for a variety of factors.
However that does not mean we can’t just enjoy rugby for what it is, celebrate the wins and look for improvements where we can.
However you seem to think that if the wallabies are not world champions then it is rubbish.
There needs to be a serious recalibration of expectations and therefore negative sentiment towards the game. It is not entertaining to listen to.
The best example of your negative spin is the way you managed to find excuses why 960k watching a wallabies test was not a good thing. “It was lockdown.” “It was because it was the French” “oh it was probably before the red card”
For f&@ksake does any other sporting journalist start questioning the numbers when they are good. Does Andrew Voss talk down the numbers of origin. “Oh no it was only watched because lockdown was on.”
Everyone loves constructive and engaging analysis but the tone and the comments were so lacking in engagement that it is embarrassing.
Not everything is perfect in Australian rugby but do better with your analysis. Or invite me a long and I will happy to provide another perspective.”
