“Absolutely terrifying. After listening to the first episode it’s like being immersed in Cult Running 101. Physical isolation, head-shaving (to divest any sense of individuality), peer pressure/gaslighting, LITERALLY coming out in a robe whilst saying “I am god” and “killing” people, food/water deprivation. It’s all so obvious when listening to the retelling—it makes me wonder what the lead up could have possibly been to lock these people in. (I suppose “pay $10,000 for a retreat” is a good indicator of who’s vulnerable, but wow).”
