Body inclusivity (Riley Ep) - Her advice was completely ignored.
In the podcast you talk about having waste leftover of the bigger sizes at Jagger & Stone and saying that it’s not worth stocking those sizes if they don’t sell. But, what is strangely completely lost on you is that you expect those sizes to sell when you don’t represent them in your marketing on your website AT ALL. Every single page of clothing shows a white size 6-8 model, and I’m sure as a result you sell those sizes easily. You even said to Riley that your sales surged when she represented the sizes you weren’t previously selling. What was ignored and should of been addressed, is that if you were concerned about being inclusive then you would of had a range of sizes modelling your clothes from day dot. However, you have actively chosen to market your brand to a particular size and that is what’s adding to the issue in the fashion industry and promoting toxic diet culture. At some stage when creating your brand there was an active decision to show and only focus on the smaller models rather than the full size range you actually offer. Maybe reflect on why that decision was made? Why is a size 6 more valuable for your brand that a size 16? It’s now been 2 months since this episode and no changes have been made to your website inclusivity marketing. If you want to genuinely be inclusive, then show us a size 16 model, on your website home page on your next collection. Start actually making an effort to sell your full size range.
