Description
Finding the right school and/or life path is a decision that can have inspiring or devastating financial as well as emotional consequences to our lives. Yet most of us do not have the skill sets necessary to plan our child’s or our own life's chosen path wisely. Jerry Katzman M.D. interviews Robert LeVine, President and CEO of University Consultants of America, Inc, a novel premier and private consulting service that helps fledgling and seasoned students excel in the process of making life choice decisions involving admission into the appropriate college, university, or professional school. In addition, the process of making application to colleges and universities is complicated, are generally misunderstood in scope and nature; if done incorrectly, these decisions can and will change the course of one’s potential career, both in terms of personal fulfillment and financial rewards. Robert, an attorney and the former Chairman of the Harvard Schools Committee of the West Coast of Florida, began as a volunteer interviewer/recruiter for Harvard University. He brings nearly 30 years of experience in dealing with the admission process to a new science allowing candidates to become focused and placed in their best potential match, whether to an Ivy League, private or public college or university.  His focus is on educating and counseling students and families on career selection, the admissions process, winning strategies, personal marketing, essay writing, and interview preparation. While one would believe that our high school counselors on which we rely do the same thing, it is clear that they do not have the time or experience to accomplish the task well for every student. With open availability and accessibility of education from almost any college, university, professional or vocational school, and the ability to obtain an education online without even attending school in person, the need for understanding of the differences in educational methods and opportunities, from facility to facility to beyond, is too often misunderstood. Simply put, we have diluted our standards for ad perspectives about education. Is it worth getting into an Ivy League or private school anymore? Do we need them with so much education available? And if so, can we even compete to get into these highly-selective schools due to incredible competition? Can we do anything to shift the odds in our children's favor?  Find out the answers to these questions and more on today’s show. It will be extremely enlightening to anyone with children in high school, graduate school, or adults looking to obtain select-level professional or post graduate training. Success is more than a simple formula. An eye-opening discussion on how to get a great education today.
