“This show gets technical. It can come across as dry at times — I believe K.M. reads from a show script — but I don’t think she would be able to cover as much territory if she didn’t take that approach. Some writing podcasts are full of heart, with multiple hosts and guests engaged in casual banter, or waxing poetic about their personal struggles and victories. This is not that kind of show, and I appreciate it for what it is. Granted, she does share her personal journey, but the show remains the most clinical and academic of all the writing podcasts I have tried so far. If you’re a “pantser” you may be turned off by her unabashedly structured approach, but I would still recommend the podcast for the purpose of putting seeds in your mind about character building, plot, and other essentials which will bloom during your pantsing.”
