Description
Katja is the voice and face behind the The Rural Mum. She moved to the farm with her Husband Ned, which fuelled a passion for sharing, educating and creating resources for other women and men entering family farm business and rural life.    Outside of running her family farming operations Katja and her husband Ned have three blessings, Eddie, Mac, and Caroline.    Katja takes us through her pregnancy and births during one of the toughest droughts in recent history. She talks about the pressures and stress associated with on farm living, when you are far away from resources and town. Due to her own health needs Katja had limited options when it comes to pain management and she talks us through the importance of getting the right team, advocating for yourself strongly and having good health literacy.     As you will hear Katja harnessed the technique of hypnobirthing, something which can be difficult to find resources around in rural communities. Luckily the town of Dubbo has some amazing resources, which Katja kindly hunted down and we have included here. https://www.nvmidwifery.com/midwifery-services   Katja thank you so much for generously sharing your journey and for all you continue to do for rural men and women entering farming life.
