“I have just discovered Alex and her wonderful wonderful Crave Casts. I am in the trenches fighting out of a decade of poor health and nutrition (I am only 30 years old), which I chose as a coping mechanism, first for a deeply-broken heart and profoundly poor self-esteem (news flash, it did not actually help either of those things..), and then developed as a habit to combat every level of stress that came into my life - which ended up being a lot. I thus got out of a serious eating disorder only to dig myself into an even deeper hole. It took me a long time to want to change, then once I did, to actually implement changes. Some were easier than others - like initial weigh loss through more exercise with better nutrition over all. I was not dealing the necessary underpinnings of my behavior, however, and because I am very self-reflective, and very defensive, I am only now, really, dealing on a primary level with the WHY I do what I do and have done. With WHY I have not yet taken control of my cravings and weekly binges as my continual coping mechanism. I have finally started seeking help and advice, both personally and more abstractly through online resources such as Alex. I am elated to have found her. Not only is she empathetic and non-judgmental, which is enormous. She is giving of herself, her story. And she is a woman - which is such a big deal. You don’t have to buy something every week - there are purchases available but there are also SO many free resources. And her podcasts are some of the most helpful and healing tools I have lucked upon.
Thank You Alex, for sharing your story and knowledge. Anyone who is struggling - give yourself an hour or two, or a day if you can, and just listen. Really listen. Open to the possibilities of change that are available.”
