Leading ALL Women?
I have enjoyed listening to this podcast for while and have felt encouraged and motivated by many episodes I listened to. However I listened to the latest mini episode on Clarity today and was loving it and was really intrigued the 12 week training/coaching being offered. But then came the description of who it was for. And I get it, you need parameters and guides. I currently am a stay at home parent. I volunteer and lead groups as I am able and organize people and am a part of the community. Prior to staying home, I had a professional career. I was in a leadership role, where I was coaching and educating and managing professional adults. I did this for many years as a parent as well. I know that only I can own my reactions to things, but I felt the list of people this training isn’t for insinuated heavily that unemployed people are also unmotivated with no creative purpose or desire to be trained or further their development. I personally have some pretty big goals and dreams that I would love to see fulfilled and honestly was listening to the description and reading the description the course think “yeah this is what I need to go further”. I know being a stay at home parent can be viewed very negatively in the professional world. But as it happens we were all children once and needed someone to care for us. And this is the route I’ve chosen. And it was easier to chose because I didn’t feel like I was fulfilling my creative purpose in my old workplace. I was a leader and I was succeeding, but it wasn’t the fit I needed. I’m more than just an unemployed woman. Someone can’t claim to want to empower and coach and lift up all women and leave out huge swaths of that demographic. People are unemployed for many many reasons. And many of those women have unfulfilled creative purpose just waiting to be developed and they aren’t sure what steps to take. We should support all women in all stages of life.
