“I’ve followed you on YouTube for years and so excited for your journey with this podcast!
A stranger that I will always remember is... about six years ago my kids were only one and two at the time and we’re in the checkout line at Walmart. There’s three customers ahead of me. The line seems to be taking forever being each person didn’t have much they were paying for. Then I see this woman at the register. She keeps fumbling with her purse handing the cashier card after card as each one keeps declining. I hear this inner voice tell me to go pay for her groceries. I ignore it in hopes one of her cards will go through. I hear the voice again when the next card is declined say “go pay for her groceries!” I make my kids stay in the shopping cart and tell them I will be right back. I squeeze behind all the customers in front of me and without saying a word I slide my debit card through the machine. Instantly the woman was in tears as was I and after a very embracing hug she thanked me repeatedly and I go back to my cart. She leaves the store, the customers in front of me payed and went on their way never saying anything about what just had happened. Finally when I get to the checkout myself I asked how much I just payed for the woman’s groceries to deduct it from my account. $20 and some change. I thought about her the entire way home and from time to time since. You never know the struggles some people may have. If you have the means in some situations it could really change the lives of someone to help. Even if it’s in a small way. Always choose kindness!”
