Akbar once was having a conversation with his barber Karim. Karim asked Akbar a question as if he has heard any news of his ancestors from heaver ever. Akbar was confused as to how something like that could be possible and Karim told him that Brahmins like Birbal have special powers to go to heaven and return back. Akbar then went to enquire from Birbal if that was possible and he immediately understood the plot to get rid of him. Birbal agrees with this and said he will need 6 months and some money to do so.Using time and money, Birbal dug a secret tunnel from cremation ground all the way to his home. On the selected day, he secretly slipped back to his house. Then after a few months, he presented himself in front of the Emperor. Akbar was very pleased to see him and Birbal told him that he met his father in heaven. His father was very happy there but he had complained of not having any good barbers in heaven and have thus requested for the royal barber to be sent to heaven. Poor Karim was this stuck in his own net and finally had to spill the beans as to how some other courtiers have allured him into this plot to get rid of Birbal.
