Frenemies to lovers!
Absolutely loved this show and binge listened it on one day! Firstly, a modern retelling of Hamlet? Count me in! It’s well done with some proper quotes and a referencing storyline and a lot less blood loss and death than in the original. The jokes didn’t get lost on the way to the 21. century and some themes got picked up on the way, like queerness (maybe too little? Why not make Rosencrantz and Guildenstern gay? Just a suggestion, if not Hamlet and Horatio themselves) and feminism (strong, independent female characters - Ophelia is my absolute favourite - and a depiction of not toxic masculinity - a big shoutout to Horatio and Leo at this point). Secondly, y’all who are into Fanfictions? Here are some tags you might like: Modern AU, Royal, Fake dating, Fake Engagement, Frenemies to lovers, slow burn (kind of?), Misunderstandings, Politics, and so so many snarky comments and heartwarming love proclamations (or rather heartwarming comments and snarky love proclamations🧐) It’s splendid and absolutely worth listening! Also, go check out their other shows, as well, I started Super Ordinary and then got side tracked with our favourite fakin’ Highness but will now return to our favourite local villain. To the listeners: enjoy the ride and to the creators: keep up the superbe work! Great voice acting, outstanding sound design and gorgeous storytelling!
