History of the World since 1500 CE
Prof. Bulliet is engaging and funny. He ranges widely over all the globe, more thematically than chronologically. His refreshing perspective resists the traditional focus on Europe; he shows how diverse and creative humanity has always been. Rather than learning specific names and dates, the focus is more on thinking about how to tell humanity's story, what to include, what to leave out, what to compare and contrast. I recommend this course highly to anyone interested in history. As I write this, only ten lectures have been posted, and I'm looking forward to the rest of them.
