I’ve been doing Home Automation since the old X10 days, had a CP290 connected to my Black Apple II+ (fun fact, Bell & Howell made them for the Education market).
My favorite boring automations are:
-when the door/window sensor see’s the door close it tells the Encode Plus to lock the door
-when one of the moisture sensors I’ve placed everywhere detects water it shuts off the water main, turns a light on red, and sends out a message. I’ve a button to push to reverse everything.
