“I listened to this episode with no opinion on sobriety as I always think it’s a persons choice and that’s cool either way. One thing that stuck me about this episode, leading me to comment, is the fact that it sounds more like she had other issues at a young age and used alcohol to deal with them. I don’t know a single person who didn’t go to uni and have an absolute blast tanked on alcohol, making stupid choices and then going into the real world, yes still drinking but being a responsible adult, working, socialising etc but a drunk is never cool so it was rarely if ever done or at least with colleagues!! I feel like her experience with alcohol masks the joy with also brings, I love the taste of all alcohol and an appreciation for the incredible wine out there has only come with age and an increase in Money which was not the case in uni. I just feel like she’s kinda missed the point of what drinking is meant to be and felt like it was her only way to grow up after uni was to abstain and this is sad which asks the question- if millennials just can’t cope with the real world?? It didn’t make me curious about sobriety at all, it made me appreciate how mature and improved my drinking appreciate has got. Thus not regretting a bloody thing as that was a time in life everyone should have, uni is awesome!
Love the podcast!
