Love John and Caroline
Editing my review because unfortunately this episode with guest Kristii is a total miss and almost infuriating. I respect every family looks different and has different financials. That’s absolutely ok. But I cannot believe the response of “okay we’re ready to have babies!” “You make having kids look fun!” When the guest has a paid chef, part-time nanny, and second home, and a husband who clearly is very well-off. Yeah, finances are the number one concern most of us have with bringing children into the world. I’m sure Kristii does have a ton of fun without that barrier. It’s perfectly fine to have her as a guest nonetheless but where these hosts have failed their viewers is with their questions. Nothing about managing multiple children. Nothing about how to blend a family. Nothing about organizing calendars. Nothing about preparing for pregnancy. They could’ve at least asked the guest questions where her experience was relevant despite her lack of typical financial barriers most women will have. But no, they asked about her instagram handle to be. They gassed her up most of the podcast. Religion, which is fine I guess but not very actionable. This podcast is not informative but what’s unfortunate is it becoming actively unenjoyable to hear conversationally as well. I do think Caroline has potential as a great podcaster, but the current formula is very hit or miss. Previous Review: I think we need Fridays with John. My favorite episode of the series so far! It’s a good easy podcast. I used to listen to Betches Brides with Nicole and loved the episodes with Caroline. Caroline and Nicole do have differing opinions which is a helpful counterbalance. I do think at times it can be the blind leading the blind in terms of discussing future planning or babies, etc. But I don’t think the podcast is meant to be instructional so much as conversational.

They navigated the conversations and questions with the guests really well and you can tell they’re getting better at podcasting and being more comfortable with discussing deeper topics and reflecting!

!!
Loved the first episode - my only thing is that it seemed like Nicole doesn’t like her husband at all 🥲
