“Your wife” has a name, Josh
Average. The podcast is droning on now. He’s in prison, it’s unimaginable and rough, same hardships over and over. We get it. What does not sit well with me regarding this podcast (outside of the endless ads) is how Josh *ALWAYS* refers to Thami as “my wife”. She’s not a possession; she has a name, dude. This story isn’t all about just you, Josh. Out of all of the episodes so far, I’ve noticeably heard him use her name once. Any other time, it’s “my wife” this and “my wife” that. I personally find that disrespectful. (And I’m not one of those people who sits around all day looking for something to be offended about. This is just common courtesy.) It would’ve been different had this been a single episode covering an incident, but it’s not. It’s multi-episode podcast. We know Thami’s name, Josh. We’ve gotten to know her, Josh. Thami uses your name, not “my husband”, every time she refers to you. I’m really surprised the producers didn’t step in and make the recommendation to him of using her name. Outside of that, typical millennial. They can do what they want without consequences. Nothing affects them. No preliminary research needed before stepping foot into an unknown South American country whose government happens to hate America. I am not the least bit surprised by what happened with this story.

Ughh- the main character?! I can’t even- why does he not call Tammy by her actual name? Objectify much? I feel worried for the little girls in the story.

This is perhaps the WORST podcast to which I have ever had the misfortune of listening. The belabored narrative is painful. Episode after episode with little to no advancement in the story. Clearly the authors have little experience with holding an audience’s attention. This story should have...Read full review »

I can’t get over Becky’s over the top journalist cadence and tone. Just. Talk. Normal. And to add to the other reviews: there are way too many add breaks that just yank you out of the story. It’s very very slow story telling that isn’t compelling enough to take you through 10 whole episodes,...Read full review »
