“Hi Jamie and Doug! I stumbled across this podcast several years ago. I recognized you from MAFS and decided to jump in and I have listened ever since! I absolutely love how open and honest you two are! I feel like I relate to you in just about everything you say! I keep telling myself, man, I wish she lived close to me because I think we could really be great friends! I have also struggled with finding those good, true friends that would drop anything to help you out, and every time I hear another part of your story, it makes me wish we were closer so we could hang out and become best friends!
I just finished the episode where you were discussing how you wish you could have just “felt joy” to bring yourself out of your suicidal depression. I know you were disappointed in yourself for not being able to just bring yourself out of it and I just wanted to tell you that you should be proud no matter how long it has taken you! I lost one of my good friends to postpartum psychosis a few years ago. She had just had her 3rd baby and when the baby was about 3 months old, she took her own life, leaving her husband and 3 babies to go on without her. It was the most heartbreaking thing I have gone through. She was never a person that I would have ever guessed would do something like that. She was the sweetest soul! So I just don’t want you to be so hard on yourself! You should be proud of yourself for every part of your journey. You have kept going, even when it got tough. You are still here for your babies so focus on that! Mental health issues can happen to anyone and I thank you both for sharing some of the darkest times of your lives. This podcast has opened my eyes to see that everyone has their own struggles and even when it feels like you are alone and no one would understand, there are other people out there going through similar things! Just knowing that makes the rough times just that much easier to push through! Love y’all and this podcast! Forever a “fran!” - Kelsey”
