“I was disappointed to hear that Kristen had to take a step back for personal reasons. I really enjoyed her takes on Game of Thrones and The Handmaid’s Tale, but I was glad to hear that the podcast would continue and that Jason had found someone to step in and take over in her absence.
Unfortunately, the new hosts aren’t doing her podcast the justice it deserves. Lizzie especially is not a good fit to podcast on a show like The Handmaid’s Tale and it’s serious tone.
Dianna is doing a fine job, but I can’t take Lizzie’s ridiculous silly voices and her intentionally yelling into the microphone for no reason at all. She insists on reading each listener’s feedback in a different absurd accent. Feedback for this show tends to reflect the serious subject matter Handmaid’s is known for, and her doing this comes off as mocking and like she’s not taking this seriously. I’m sure that is not her intention, but is quite jarring and unenjoyable.
I gave the new duo several episodes to grow on me, but apparently this is just Lizzie’s podcast style and it is not for me. At least not for this show.
I’ve been subscribed to this feed for a long time, but unfortunately I am now unsubscribing and am off to try to find a new Handmaid’s Tale podcast.”
