STUDENT-ATHLETES & PARENTHOOD: Sports, Academics and Children! Some student-athletes come on campus already as parents, while others wind up in the dual role as athlete and student in an environment that increases the likelihood of engaging in behavioral risks, including sexual activity that results in parenthood. Does the NCAA have parenting policies? What are the emotional health concerns for athletes who are parents? What if any role does coaches and trainers play in supporting student-athletes with children? Are there campus resources available for student-athletes with children?
