“Really entertaining show - it’s great to learn more about the history of all these interesting locations (predominantly northern England and Scotland - reflecting Rob’s base in North-east England) - Rob gives a rundown of the history and ghost tales of each place, and sometimes he and his friends have visited the location and conducted ghost hunts of their own. For these episodes Rob reads accounts of how the ghost hunts went, which is an enjoyable addition and sets this podcast a little apart from a lot of the paranormal podcasts available. Crucially Rob is a good, lively storyteller and knows how to keep the story interesting. Of course, there’s a lot of stories about the poor souls who’ve died in these locations and therefore why the place is haunted. There’s a lot of grisly episodes from medieval times with some truly terrible stories. Sometimes there’s a little too much detail of the gore and particularly the suffering for me so I tend to fast forward a little bit at these times! But the rest is so good it’s worth it even for ultra-sensitive souls like me!”
