200. Stopping the b******t with Dan Sultan

Description
In this episode I catch up with legendary Australian musician Dan Sultan. Dan and I have a really candid discussion about his life with alcohol and his recovery. Being an extremely shy person, Dan used alcohol to help him block out the discomfort of his shyness, low self esteem and a strong inner critic. After a drunken episode at a show, the press in Australia ran with it and shamed Dan all over the headlines for days on end. He eventually decided to go to rehad and get help. Dan talks about the moment he got really honest in rehab which was the turning point for him and his sobriety. Dan points out how if you don't get there at first, you are not failing. We don't always get sobriety the first time. Dan is a wonderful Dad, husband and musician and is proud to say that he has never been drunk in front of his kids.
