Zhana Vrangalova, PhD, is a NYC-based sex researcher who studies casual sex, nonmonogamy, and sexual orientation. She holds a PhD in developmental psychology from Cornell University, and currently teaches human sexuality-related courses as an adjunct professor at New York University. In addition, Dr. Zhana is the founder of The Casual Sex Project, a forum where people can share their experiences with casual sex, and the co-host of The Science of Sex Podcast. Her work has been featured in Playboy, The New Yorker, Vice, and many other publications. Dr. Zhana believes that “nothing is one-size fits all when it comes to sex.” In today’s episode of Humans in Love, Dr. Zhana and I talked about how casual sex impacts us, who would benefit from casual sex (and who would not), the complicated cultural politics of #metoo and consent, and much more. I had a lot of fun, and I think you will too.
