#28 – Facing Mortality and Being Here Now with James Batcho
Listen now
Description
James Batcho is an author and philosopher. He’s also a good friend of mine, and semi-regular Chiang Mai resident. James is the author of Terrence Malick’s Unseeing Cinema. You might remember James from episode 5 of this podcast. But we don’t talk much about movies and pop culture in today’s episode. Last year, James faced a nightmarish health scare while teaching in southern China. In today’s conversation, James and I talk about facing up to our own mortality, facing death, embracing life, and most importantly, being here now. This was one of the most thought-provoking and impactful conversations I’ve had for this podcast. I hope you enjoy.
