#32 – Ram Dass, the Spiritual Path, and Making Music with East Forest
Listen now
Description
East Forest is an American musician and composer. His latest project, an album-length collaboration with the famed Western spiritual teacher Ram Dass, is a beautiful melding of timeless, spoken-word wisdom, and gorgeously understated musical accompaniment. If Ram Dass doesn’t win a Grammy this year, I’ll be shocked. It’s a beautiful, meditative piece of work, and it’s been a frequent source of inspiration and comfort to me over the past couple of months. I wanted to speak to East Forest to dig deeper into his background, his creative process, his inspiration, his spiritual path, encounters with Ram Dass, and what the actual composing and recording process was like for the new album. I hope you enjoy.
