“I loved hearing you and Lara talk about the ASL interpreters at the Reba concert. I have a daughter who is profoundly deaf, and two daughters and one son-in-law who are professional sign language interpreters. Needless to say - signing is a big deal in our family. Thank you for noticing how much went into interpreting the concert. We have made arrangements in the past to attend Broadway productions with our whole family. The lengths the teams of interpreters go to so that the experience will be enjoyable for audience members who are deaf is astounding. They convey the dialogue, the music, the movements, and the emotions. I get exhausted just thinking about it. For you to notice the difference in the two interpreters at the concert was quite intuitive. There is a huge range of proficiency within the profession. Anyway — just wanted you to know I enjoyed your discussion! (I always look forward to new podcast episodes. Thank you for being someone I can listen to for lots of laughs and without worrying about profanity!)”
