One of the most entertaining and interesting hours I’ve spent on a podcast
There’s no doubt that Jonathan Ross is a passionate and pretty knowledgeable cinephile as well as a seasoned pro as a presenter. The biggest surprise here isn’t that the show is superb and a must listen for film fans everywhere, it’s more that he didn’t start doing this years ago. The Ben Wheatley episode was just sublime and the idea of spending a whole episode with Ross and his guest ruminating on their careers and all things cinema make this a must listen in my growing weekly podcasts. I think it would have been a mistake to have tried a Kermode and Mayo type show. Those guys have got their 2 hour shows down pat and are unlikely to ever be challenged for that UK weekly film review crown any time soon. With this format Jonathan gives guests the chance to relax into the show and, judging by Ben Wheatley’s reaction, begin to enjoy the chat. Providing he can continue to attract interesting filmmakers on a regular basis then this should become a must listen for all film fans.

More reviews of I Like Films with Jonathan Ross
Great style of interviewing- the years of experience of Ross shine through as he guides us boldly into a space where no other interviewer dares go... 10/10, or indeed 5 Stars, but 10/10 somehow feels better!

I didn’t realise how much I missed Jonathan Ross talking about film until I heard this. Funny, interesting and not afraid to hold Spike Lee to account, this is great. Looking forward to more!

Ross just does not have the depth of knowledge of his BBC counterparts
