This is Part 2 of a 2-part Series. How does one identify if gangs are prevalent within their community? Today, Bob Florez, M.A., Youth Advocate, Program Developer and Counselor returns to discuss what average community members can do. What can schools and municipalities do about gangs? How does a parent increase “protective factors” and decrease “risk factors” for their children? These are some of the questions that will be answered in the next hour! We will look closely at what has worked in the past and allow that to inform the needs of the future. We must make changes necessary to help our youth grow into the adults that they deserve to be within our communities. Our youth are our greatest resource. We are incarcerating young men at an alarming rate today and there is a dramatic increase in female enrollment! We must take action to preserve the future and offer our youth the potential they deserve.
