Description
****THIS PODCAST EPISODE MAY BE TRIGGERING FOR SOME****    Mattie Larson is a former American artistic gymnast. In 2010 she was the national champion on floor exercises, and later that year at the World Championships was awarded a silver medal for competing with the USA in the team competition. Mattie continued to compete at UCLA college from 2012 to 2014.    Mattie was also one of the victims of Larry Nassar, the convicted serial child molester who was the USA Gymnastics national team doctor. Mattie, VERY powerfully and BRAVELY gave a statement during Nassar’s sentencing hearing. Since the Nassar case, Mattie has continued to be a spokesperson for sexual abuse survivors. She has helped me IMMENSELY in my own journey and is a true inspiration. I’m forever grateful for her love and support.    Listen to us talk about being a competitive gymnast for Team USA, surviving sexual abuse, and body acceptance.    Follow her at @mattlarz   ~*~ Be sure to follow me at @atlantabean & @ImOverItPodcast ~*~
