Description
Live from our bedrooms, it’s I’m Over It Season 3! To kick off the first episode of I'm Over It, I sat down with teen-extraordinaire—although soon to be 20 year old—Emily Odesser. At just fourteen, Emily co-founded and eventually became Editor in Chief of Teen Eye Magazine, an art, culture, and fashion publication COMPLETELY run by, and for creators under 19 with a circulation of over a million readers! In 2017, Emily was named one of Vice's 6 Young Activists Who Made History, in 2018, she was one of the select youth activists invited to be a part of Lebron James’ #AlwaysBelieve campaign, and in 2019, she was named one of Teen Vogue’s 21 Under 21! Fast forward to 2020, Emily currently serves as the events coordinator and Instagram manager for Sad Girls Club, and contributes to publications including Salty, Teen Vogue, Sunday Times, Broadly, W Magazine, Rookie Magazine, and NPR. Oh, and did we mention you can also find Emily educating Gen Z on issues including sex-positivity and education, curriculum reform, mental health, AND reproductive rights over on her personal page? Yeah, she’s a pretty big deal. In this episode, listen to us talk about sweatpants, our beginnings in the fashion industry, and coping with mental health in isolation.
