“Some stories are very detailed and informational and I can feel all of the emotions which I love! I almost cry happy tears at the end of some episodes. Some just don’t have enough content about that person’s life and gets boring because it talks more about what they do instead of how they feel so it’s harder to imagine and have fun with it. At the end of those episodes I am very disappointed once I learn who it is, that the story could have been better.
Performance wise, I love Virginia! She should do audiobooks or something. She is so good at doing different voices and is so smooth at story telling. The guy... not really my favorite. I feel like he has the same voice for every single person. Blah. Boring. On that note... there was one episode that he voiced over and I imagined a male the entire time only to find out in the end it was a female! That really threw me off. I did NOT like that. I’m glad they didn’t do it again!
I still listen to every single because there are some that are really good to listen to, and I love listening to Virginia tell the story.
**edit, and spoiler alert**
Ok... I just listened to another episode that had the voices reversed. I guess it tends to be on the episodes where the character is gay. This is very annoying and I find it very ignorant. I definitely agree with others who say this show weighs heavily on the left. There was a warning on the Maya Angelou episode which I don’t understand because there was nothing in that episode that shouldn’t be for kids. Yet, I listened to an episode where there was profanity a few times and absolutely no warning in the beginning. Hmm. Rethinking the ratings for this podcast.”
