“SPOILER I’m from Mississippi, but I had never heard about this case until a friend told me I should listen. It took me some months to get through it all because it made emotional to hear how blatantly racist and unjust the prosecution is, to begin with Curtis’s mother alive and end with her gone—to end with Curtis still locked up for something that just seems so obvious that he’s innocent of. I learned even more how the system works for some but not for all and how some have way too much power while completely lacking in the checks and balances that are supposed to exist.
I can’t say I “enjoyed” this reporting, but I appreciated the care you all took to be careful with the feelings of all involved, especially those directly effected: this includes the families who lost loved ones in the murders all those years ago. I want justice for them as well as Curtis.”
