Welcoming, informative, refreshing.
I just loved listening to this. Growing up riding horses in England, there were so many stringent rules over horse riding and often cruel ways to treat horses that never sat well with me. So much is to do with class structures and other human social patterns and behaviours that are projected onto horses: pride, prejudice, power dynamics. How confusing it must be for the horses. It’s just lovely to hear compassionate, informed conversations about horses as complex creatures - just like us - who feel joy, fear, curiosity, friendship, etc., and also who have their own complex social lives they are often disconnected with. So refreshing to hear this side of the story. Thank you.
