“Love your podcasts - In many ways in person in this world is only a step or action away of being incarcerated, and in many parts of the world, ethnicity, belief, association or history increase the chance of being incarcerated.
Our society loses the sense of personhood and brands/labels people, the sense of an eye for an eye needs is the old way and it doesn’t work; there is a minute fraction of 1% of all those incarcerated that should be. I live in a country (New Zealand) were the ethnic minority’s (Maori/Polynesian, @12-15%) make up well over (I mean well over) 50% of the national prison population. I agree we need to do things differently (look at Denmark) as “If we always do what we always done, then we’ll alway get (high recidivism) what we alway got - please get Angela Davis on.......”
