Insightful, Empathic and Clever
Although I do understand those with the opinion that this show provides a platform for a bunch of young men with wicked opinions, I have deep respect for Naama and her podcast. I think it is OK to give these people a platform. Because they are not given one so often, only the ones that they create themselves, and those get shut down again and again by authorities. This is how extremism rises and flourishes, by opinions being suppressed and ignored and not dealt with. And that is probably partly the reason why incels react the way they do, with anger, hate and force. These guys are kids. Obviously they’ve been deprived of the love and respect that every kid needs to receive to be able to turn into a person with good moral and optimism about their future and the world. I am sincerely frightened by the rise of this community. And I don’t know how to solve this “crisis”. But I know that the community is rising, and what we’ve been doing so far, hasn’t gotten us anywhere. And fear never helps. Let’s instead spend our energy on helping these sad and ostracised people lead normal lives. That means governments taking responsibility. Parents showing their kids accept, love and support. And listen to them before it is too late. This is what Naama does and I think she does it really well.

I like it, it's the only piece on this topic that doesn't paint incels as an entire community of mass shooters in waiting, and a lot of the negative reviews here that claim it's not balanced are really upset that so far, the podcast is not: "incels are homophobic, racist,...Read full review »

To say that they shouldn’t be given a voice or a platform in which to express their feelings is part of the reason they became part of the community to begin with. These individuals didn’t subscribe to these ideologies on their own. They were people who felt left out, unheard and unwanted by...Read full review »
