Parvin conceptualised the Pro Panja League over four years from 2016 to 2019 before launching it in 2020 under his company, Swen Entertainment Pvt Ltd. The league was launched in 2020 with Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju and Olympic boxer Vijender Singh participating in an exhibition match to kick off the event. Prior to this, he’s been an actor with notable films such as Khosla Ka Ghosla and Monsoon Wedding. We chatted with him about the conceptualisation of a league, for a sport that is embedded in Indian sports culture, how the athletes for such as league are being pipelined and the commercials surrounding the league in the future.
