“When I was in junior high, my sister (5 years older) informed all of my musical tastes. Thanks to her, I was not wasting my time with crappy pop of the day (Roxette, e.g. ...I am an ancient 29). She got me into the Replacements, the Femmes, the Pixies, Talking Heads, even Aretha, etc. Now that I'm a grown up (and my sister now only listens to Grateful Dead and String Cheese Incident), I read music reviews in every cool magazine I can find (Bust, Q, Paper, Index, Giant Robot, etc.), talk to friends from my coast and the left coast, and chat up my pals at the indie music store. That having been said, nothing has been as informative or as exciting as hearing jaw-droppingly awesome sides from my cool big sister until I took a chance with IndieFeed. Sure, not everything's to my liking, but that's to be expected. But the majority of the podcasts are absolute gems that no other source has told me about: Black Angels, Bling Kong, Controller.Controller, etc. A lot of these bands are hard to seek out, so it's especially great to have not just a well-informed hipster's recommendation, but also have the track on your compooty or iPod. I find myself listening to Black Grease by the Black Angels all the time, for example, even though it's taking my music store of choice an especially long time to get their CD. Subscribe, music lovers! It's free!!! And IndieFeed, keep up your good work! Thank you so much for what you do.”
